The Meaning of Kai
Kai is more than the ocean. It is movement, nourishment, memory, and connection—a living rhythm shared between water, land, and those who depend upon them.
This collection draws from the life within and surrounding Hawaiʻi’s waters: the creatures that move through them, the traditions shaped beside them, and the quiet signs that remind us to observe, respect, and remain connected.
Each piece carries a small expression of that relationship—created to honor what moves around us and what continues moving within us.
The Rhythm of Kai

The Rhythm of Kai follows the movement of life along and beneath the water—from shells shaped by the tide and ʻopihi holding firmly to stone, to the graceful paths of heʻe, manta, and menpachi.
It also honors the practices formed beside the ocean: the patience of gathering, the skill of the throw net, and the understanding that what sustains us must also be respected.
Each design carries its own expression of movement, adaptability, nourishment, and belonging—different stories held together by one living current.
NĀ KIAʻI
Presence. Guidance. Connection.
Nā Kiaʻi honors the quiet presence of the natural world and the ways it encourages us to observe more closely.
Pueo watches from stillness. ʻIo moves with a wider view. Moʻo remains close to the land—each carrying its own nature, awareness, and way of moving through the world.
These designs are not created to define what each presence must mean. They leave room for personal connection, memory, and the meaning recognized by the person who carries them.
